mouse in the house

After seeing the above blog (and the very real looking and cute mouses in different scenarios) it was hard to get rid of the very real mouse that was in our house yesterday. I went to open the cupboard to get a coffee filter and gasped and moved back - a mouse was there, next to the coffee filters. It just looked at me from the left hand side of the open cupboard. I think it was pooped out as it appeared to have chewed itself free from the sticky-trap huzzy put on the top shelf (le mouse was on the bottom shelf). So, I talked to the rascal - and attempted to coax it into a jar....but I could not get it to go all the way in. So I removed the jar, it launched itself to the kitchen floor and made a run for it. I called Benny in and he chased it to under Dan's dresser in the bedroom - scared and batted the poor thing and brought it out and I scooped it into the jar. I though it may revive but it did not. Eeek. I did do a girlie-squeal when it launched itself from the cupboard I'll tell you! ha! I was a little leery of making coffee this morning....no mice/mouses....yeah. A snap-trap will be bought - or several of them. Today. Just where it got in I'm not sure - the top cupboard appears to have some sort of hole on top from ? - will have to investigate further. Huzzy was in charge of the situation. But he's got a 12 day stretch o work so......

The Greenhouse is 'plugging' along nicely (ha). I bought home some matrix-mix pansies yesterday - I so love their faces. They are a clear and vibrant color - don't have the black centre. They will go in a planter on the back step railing. It is getting busier with people so a mental-shift is needed from focusing on planting etc to helping people b/c from here on in - that is mostly what we'll be doing - replenishing supplies and helping peeps. ( And trying to keep hydrated and not pass out from the heat in the greenhouse! holy moses it gets mighty sweltery in there) May will be kooky month there - building to the crescendo of May long wknd.....
