the blind leading the blind

This was indeed my experience at Service CAnada on Thursday. I went to see about career counselling - was given reams of paperwork to sign and then was handed a large, laminated number 5 and told to wait to be called. I see a fellow come out from the back and pick up paperwork and call number four. Oooo I'm next. Out comes another fellow from the back - but he has a 'blind-stick' and heads for the pile. I'm keeping an open mind.......Said fellow takes awhile to look at my paperwork and then calls number 5.

Off we go, I follow behind and he is mumbling things I cannot hear - and I think: the blind leading the blind. We head to his cubicle and have a seat and he proceeds to ask me questions - mostly pertaining to what I wrote on the forms (my writing is quite loopy at the best of times nevermind if you are sight-challenged). I try and start up some convo but he doesn't seem to hear me. His hands were all yellowed and dirty and cracked - he had grampy-nose-hairs and brows...so that kept me pretty entranced as he asked me my info. Imagine - him: where did you last work? me: the bra bar him: oh, and what is this word after Bra Bar? me: Panterie, as in panties/ladies unders...... OH MY!

He booked a career counselling appointment for me at another location and then up we got and I followed him yet again, back to the front. I wasn't sure how this was going to go down but appointment accomplished, out I went into the sun and into the nearest Starbucks - I needed a sip o caffeine after that one (good old starbucks gift card!) But indeed the blind leading the blind since I have no idea what is up for me on the job front and well, his challenge was a little more obvious to the eye. Very appropriate for where I am at I think.

And now to better things...I'm writing this on a new laptop notebook! Acer Aspire 5517 and she's a beauty - black beauty in fact. Or licorice baby. Whatever name sticks, she's delicous and quick and so fantastic! Thanks to dear huzzy who got so frustrated trying to help me with resumes and such on the hand me down dino-computer of his that he went out and picked this one up for moi! ooo sublime and much cherished. It was on my wish list to get for myself but considered a 'luxury'.....in this day and age it is almost a neccessity no? To email resumes and such it sure seems to be.

I'm awaiting sista D and royal-Duke as they are coming with the movie FAME and will sleepover. Huzzy is watching football after spending the day ice fishing. He took Benny who apparently rolled in fish guts, ate a minnow, and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He does not stink-o-guts thank goodness. A couple fish were caught and the day was apparently manificent.

Over and out dearies - getting used to this keyboard - the shift key is in a bit of an akward place... :)
