where HAVE I been.......I'm wondering too ....
(photo from wideworld of internet....sorry....don't remember where I got it from...)
O I'm just a going too fast these days. So many bananas to jubble (guggle, juggle...) see what I mean - that I am having trouble keeping up. All the newness of job plus mamajama scenario, vimo just home from the Hospital after 'ticker' complications and knee surgery and then throw in the rest of life and Huzzy working 10 days straight and bajillions of new vocab at ASL and that wrapping up for a final test ina couple weeks AND......whew. I'm off to bed.
So you'll have to pardon my laxadaisy blogging at this point....will peep in here and there when I"m not in a tizzy. I'm in the middle of creating a new way of doing things - new schedule - so that will take awhile to kick in - I give it about a month. And does summer not bring with it all sorts of goings on? In the best of ways?
sigh-o-nara dearies - happy bday to ninja and deedaa and upcoming Nels and Ria! All the dear June babies!
I love the picture of the tree don't you? I want to go and lay in it and soak the golden sunny-sun-sun. Not sure if you are in MB or heard but we've been getting quite the rain.............keep dry dear duckies - over and out from this chickapee!

new
(yet another IKEA image....)
Oooo I'd like to be sitting by this fire. Sleeping. Hee. It's way too early to get up - my eyes are sandpapery so that is a good sign that it is way too early to get up ;). Getting used to the new job - learning curves to navigate. Trying to give myself more time this am as yesterday was a bit of a morning gong show.....but all I feel like is going back to bed. zzzzzzzz. My alarm was ringing for who knows how long in my drawer this morning. It is a 'ticking' alarm so stays in drawer as the ticking can drive one bananas. It took me awhile to realize what the sound was. Funny.
What is up in your neck o the woods? This cowpoke is going back to bed for a bit. Will get up and have a shower to awaken. Have a lovely one........

new-ness
(image from IKEA)
O new-ness. I start a new job today. Excited and feels very 'right'. I'd rather swing in these chairs...but lots of summer for that to happen ahead of me. If I happen to see these chairs in your yard, I'm coming in for a swing! hahaha
I managed to plant the cosmos yesterday - some beets, onions, hollyhocks and poppies. A bit of rhubarb plant from RoMo (who also gave us 5 hand-tenderly-raised-tomato-plants that need to be planted as well)and some compost dirt was put into the garden box (yeah Huzz!).
We've been using the rain barrel water and it is fun and looks kind of like 'beer' (not quite sure why this is but think it's because it is being funneled through the eavestrough....). I haven't seen if it tastes like beer - ha - plants don't go woggily so.......can't wait to have the rainbarrel outfront as well! We'll turn this place into a little cottage by gum! Waiting to hear from Kevin our landscaper dude as to when he can come and save us from the patch-ass-front-lawn-show - and make it purdy. Hopefully this week. He did mention a Saturday, coming for 10 hrs and getting all done. woo woo. That would be fabulicious. Anticipation.
I think I may take these legs and Benoit and go for a walkabout. I'll change out of my polka-dot bottomed pj's first though. Huzz still tucked into bed. I went to bed last night - read a bit - did the head bob - turned off the light and had the best sleep ever. Heard not a thing and dreamt not a thing. Deep sleep. Needed that.
Over and out dearies. Enjoyed your weekend? Have a good short week!

Pictures from Paper + Cup)
What a coolio Church turned into something else! Check out the link.
Boy the wind is marvelous today. Blows into one's soul. And the sun shining down. Planted most of the garden and plants. Tried a 'Beef Mater' tomato - first to go into the garden. Mr Gnome guards it. I see he's made toast.....hmmmmm. hahahhaa
I need to plant cosmo's and some multiplier onions and beans. Tomorrow.
Got some 'crumps' going on. Had a wack sleep last night - dreamt of moving plants around to tables (like work....). Last day at the Greenhouse. The people there are marvy - what a treat to meet them all. Beautiful surroundings to work in - was neat to learn and work there. so long greenery! I will spend time in the yard now. A 'lake' away from a lake. Need to get a wee wading pool to have a real 'lake'. ha. Pretending is the best and commute time even better ;)
Over and out from this cowpoke! Have some lovely windy days! Happy bday to dear JB KOOKa. Waiting for your magical stories in a book!

saturday
Ha - this is one fine scooby-doo getaway van......snapped a picture on a dog walk with Benoit. I am sure they will be using it this weekend to camp out in. Fun.
Tis Saturday and my last day at the Greenhouse! I'm glad to say that via nosespray my 'snogs' have gone away. I can actually breathe through me nose at night sleeping! Huzzy says I still whistle but honestly how he hears this through his snorechestra I don't know. He put in one ear plug last night he said. The other went missing some time ago. So he put in one....bahahahhaa. Funny. I guess it sort of helped? ha.
Rainy day here today. High of 25 - will be mugasaurus out and in the Greenhouse.....super mugg. Ugh. How to wear my hair? I am SO NOT a hair do-er-upper person. I do try, bless my attempts, but they just aren't purdy. I feel like a bull frog with 'shrek' hair (those little side knots - pony and make into a 'ball' of sorts by folding over the elastic....). Bah. It makes me feel better to think I am some sort of character then I can go with it and have a good giggle. O vanity! Gets ya nowhere. So, I think perhaps the 'mock braids' are in order today. Pony my hair and then add elastics under the pony at intervals to keep all in a lovely 'line' of hair. We'll see. Bald would be nice but too big a change for me ;)
ViMo is re-cooping nicely from knee surgery (replacement). We visited last night. He was punchy and making jokes. He has mostly male nurses (poor guy) HA.
K is camping this weekend so it will be A's first campout! They are staunch. I don't think I'd attempt it with a babe. But if anyone can do it......they certainly can. Next up - A with papa R in a deer hunting 'thingy' up in a tree, waiting.....ha. Can't wait to see that lil A and give her a good squeeze. I need a dose of glee club (for that is what she is!).
Okay, over and out! So long Greenhouse, you've been swell. I've learned to grow myself alongside alot of those fleurs. Something healing in that - working with things that are alive. Seeing them come into the greenhouse so small and now be blooming! Bring it on life, bring it on. I embrace you joyfully. Hugs all around to you cowpokes. Go plants your plants outside. ;)

Garnish
Oooo I love this picture. And the title: Garnish. I met dear Bron at the Greenhouse. LIkeminded soul that she is. Brave. Her name reminds me of some highland scottish kick ass lass - she has the best laugh and wit. Best songs that she'll make up on the spot. Dear Bron. Do check out her link as above. She has a couple shows going on in Winnipeg and well, inspires me to put it out there. This is where the bravery comes in.....Art is a soul-expression and so to create something and have it live out in the wide world....and make a living from that.....courage. Bravery. And a need. If you are an artistic/creative being you need to make art in your daily life or you shrivel and whither and die. I believe that all peeps need to be in touch with their creativity, however it expresses itself. It reflects 'you' back to 'you' and lets you be in the moment AND process things (whether you are aware of that or not). So exciting. Anyway, shout out to Bron today. You go girl.
Two more days at the Greenhouse. I felt like anne of green gables cousin yesterday with my 'mock-braids' and straw hat on. Hot as satan's bollocks in that Greenhouse! Esp. in the Geraniums section where I found myself. I stocked Portulaca and Geraniums and played 'fill in' in the Cosmos. I wonder if it will be busier today (friday) than Saturday. Forecast is for rain in the weekend. But who knows?
So, being creative is on my brain. Being creative and putting it out there is my mission. And believing in what I create - no matter what the 'vote' is. I will create things that bring me joy. Sparkjoy.
Have a nice long wknd...may it be nice and may it be long and if it rains - go dance in it! cheerio!

a whole lotta bread
(photo from Cup of Jo)
O that's a whole lotta bread. Loaded in there like lumber. cool.
I'm all snoggy my friends. I'm taking allergy meds but am snoggy since yesterday. Huzz does have a cold - is this a cold? just in my nose? no other symptoms? I'm off to the Allergist today so maybe she can say: yes it is a cold. HA. I've been taking allergy meds since the beg. of March. Tried one of huzzies 'breathe right' nose strips last night for some relief - and they do work - somewhat.
I planted most of the garden-goodies yesterday am. Took me two hours. I completely lost track of time and then it was 8am and I had to get ready to leave for work for 830 (or thereabouts) so boy was I in a flurry and not to happy about it either. I so hate to be rushed about! My own doing of course. Got so absorbed in planting and on a mission to get it done. I just have the cosmos to plant. I think I will pip out and water right now. My allergist appt is at 11:30am so some time to moodle (but not toooooo much).
Check out this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-AbPav5E5M&feature=player_embedded
Bike rush hour in the Netherlands. Fun. From cup of jo as well.
So, Greenhouse job ends Saturday - after what I'm sure will be a nutters day. New job starts Tuesday - Community Development worker with adults that have special needs. Looking forward to it! I won't continue to pursue the Educational Assistant thing but put it on a backburner for future possibilities. I need to get a go-on with crafty stuff for the Farmers Market! ay yi yi. get a going girl! yeehaa.
Shout out to Bron for inspiration and bravery to put things out there.
Have a lovely long wknd - most likely will be 'crickets' on this blog till next week! hugs

Eagles and Dixie Chicks
Eagles and Dixie CHicks - two kinds of 'birds' that I cannot wait to see in concert! woo woo
Huzzy has been hiding two tickets for them in June under his cap since Feb! Sneaky guy. He brought them out last night as our Anniversary prezzie! 17th row, on the floor - at the Arena! It is on a Tuesday night. Ooooo it will be an awesome show!
So exciting. Had to share the news!

ready to plant
Ooo I'm so ready to plant! It is to get to 28 outside today. I've been waiting to plant till after the May long wknd - in case of frost which I heard tell we may have on May 22nd - but frost be darned - plant I will! I can cover things! My plants in the front room window are all ready to jump outside! We've had to close the front window blinds to keep the house cool and well, the plants are not getting the sunny-sun-sun - I just may go and plant some up this morning! The heat will be so good for the little suckers.
Our front lawn will get a new life in the next couple of weeks (I hope). We've got a landscaper lined up and hopefully.......
We bought two rainbarrels on the weekend and Huzz installed one at the back of the house. That particular spot get lots of rain pooling when it pours so now we'll be able to save it and use it to water the garden. The other rainbarrel will go out front - tucked into the corner - we'll plant something (shrub) in front of it so that we don't look 'hillbilly'. That one will be great to use to water the front as our house is round the back and not as easy to take out to the front. OOo exciting!
Off to the greenhouse today. Expecting major hotness there. That humidity just kicks me in the nutters. It is hard to take and sucks the life out of me. So I'll do my best to keep hydrated and tuck into cooler spaces to rejuvenate myself.
Huzz's dad 'ViMo' goes for surgery on his knee on Thursday. B goes for eye surgery on Wednesday. Saying prayers for them.
Over and out you hoolies - the plants call me! Hugs all around......

yellow birdhouse
this little yellow guy is nailed to our backyard fence. I am so jivving with the color yellow lately. I bought yet another birdhouse from work - this one wood and round and the top comes off to clean it. I hung it in our side tree this fine sunday morning. It looks cool. I would like to live there ;)
I think I will put out plants today - some of them anyway! Plant some multiplier onions and garlic and add some bloodmeal to the soil. Can't wait.
Lunch with RoMO and then take some pics so she can get used to using her new camera - she is off to Peru in July! Cool. In her 70's and still kicking it.
Have a lovely one lovelies.

friday
Ah sunny fleurs. Picture taken last summer by Huzz. He takes lovely pictures. I remember him saying that the mozzies were really bad when he was taking these. No shakey pictures though....(ha).
There is a Canadian Goose that is nesting at the back of one of the Greenhouses at work. She apparently nested there last year. Well, we noticed a 'MR' around, protecting-like - and sure enough - two baby geese toddling about! They are yellow - but I wasn't expecting the yellow to be so 'gatorade'-like! Almost like they are glowing. So cute. They forage out back and we all peek in on them but leave them to their raising of the babies ;)
I have an interview today for a new possible job - right now my guts are trying to decide if this is a good path to take. It would be working with developmentally challenged adults. Do I want to stick with children? Eeeks. I will go and see what the job is all about and hope I can decide if offered the position. It is close by and I think entails me working independently (which I like), helping people out (which I like) and I may be able to use my ASL - which I'd really like! I'll keep you posted.
This wknd is chock full of visiting goodness. Over and out for now! have a grand wknd dear raskies.

hi
Hi. This is another picture taken in New Mexico - Taos to be exact. Julia Roberts lives in Taos - but we didn't see her. I think that would have been coolio (to see her). Become her 'bestie'. Ha.
I wonder what the Greenhouse will bring today. Hopefully not pink eye (someone there has pink eye). I moved Geraniums yesterday - some orange hues were put with red hues and pink jumped in there as well - so moved those around and re-stocked and dead-headed and cleaned them up. Geraniums are in one of the hottest parts of the Greenhouse and I find the heat sucks the life out of me. So perhaps working in the shadiest part is in order for me today. I think I will have to eat some spinach - my energy is nada. Some Cpt. Crunch ;)
30 Rock is on tonight. I recorded 6 old movies on the weekend on the PVR and so want to have some time to watch them! I have to review and practice ASL-ing. Umm, take Benoit for a walkabout and me too :) Catch up with sista K who is just back from a trip with glee club (baby A). Well dear hoolies, over and out! What will your day bring?

a lil' zen in the morning
This photo was taken on our trip last fall to New Mexico. Very spiritual down there. The light was amazing. Little shop-buddha beckoned me to take his photo. My but doesn't he look swank. I love the bright colors. I am like '5' in this way. ha.
Happy bday to scronk. O but you are a dear scronk. Courage bravely on! You are so artistically talented dear scronk. Show the world. Great compassion and love in your little package of a body - strength too. Hugs. xo.
Rain again this morning. Things are muchos fresh and greening. Taking the huzz to work so I can use the truck today. Need to pick up 'apple pie' after dance tonight and take her home. My word but our little chicken is now a young and beautiful woman. I watched her dance (modern)on the wknd and yup, had tears coursing down my face. I remember when......she was all forehead and smiley-eyes and a 'chicken'....and I'll bring out the ol' cliche: where does time go?
So time, I'm making the most of you! No more escaping me. You are too precious. I'll do my best to remember this often and be like buddha. Have a buddha-lific day all you lovelies. Be Grateful. Cherish what you have. later!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmonday
Bread done been baked - banana that is. This was last week. I put out a sign to remind myself to bake those bad boys into bread. And was happy I did because sometimes I don't and they do the 'rot' dance and have to go in the garbage.
Yes, it's MOnday. Going to visit dear dingleballs and her dingle-baby today. Haven't see her in ages. Will do that this afternoon after my elementary-school-crawl. Raining here. Good thing I'm five minoootins (minutes) away from School. I can run like the wind (not).
Have a good one. Hug your kids. Hug your hunny. Hug yourself. Bye.

mama's day
Ah cookies. And Mama's. The two are forever linked whether yours makes them or not....
Cheers to all the Mama's out there - whether you've actually given birth or are just a 'mama' in everyday life (I think I fit in this category). Further proof to the old adage: Love makes the world go round (as do cookies ;) ).

wkrp chair
o yes, you see it in the photo above - our beloved (huzzies pre-sue) WKRP chair that sits every so tantalizingly in the living room. It reminds me of 70's pants, venus fly trap's pants (WKRP....). It had a matching couch (very uncomfortable) and rocker (broken)which lived in the basement pre-moi. But I had a futon and another futon thing and they 'one upped' the WKRP couch and well, the rocker was broken so......poor huzz never knew what hit him. ( I didn't know what hit me - had to move F-A-S-T as pops was in Town and the house (gram's old house)had to hit the market...aye yi yi. And my sister K was getting married.....and I was getting married the next May....(not alot going on at all :) _
So to Tcona I moved, into Dan's bachelor cabana. You can imagine the stories we have. All I can say is never throw out a bowl that looks like it has been through the war (metal, dented...)- I didn't by the way - and good thing - twas Huzzies Grams bowl and a cherished popcorn bowl from the Lake.....you just never know. Good ol' sentimentality. I have a spoon and a knife from my gram's place - don't match and most likely both from a gas bar promo - amongst other sentimental tidbits (but you won't see me on Hoarders anytime soon).
And I like to move things around.....acquired this maneouver since moving around alot as a kid - loved to re-arrange things and often times, had to because we moved to a new house. Now I do it less but like to do seasonal touches and tweak everyday things. Put like with like. Organize stuff. I don't have the maiden name STEWART for no reason you know. Yeah, we've got some stories about that as well, me and the Huzz.
O sweet life of learning.......I'd like to drop kick people/things some days but most - I'm enjoying the mantra: Be Here Now. In this moment. Take it in, take it all in.
Happy mama day as well to ninja...you know who you are if you read this blog.....and to anyone I missed last post. over and out!
early morning
Ah, yet another prairie picture. Love the prairies. I wonder if where you are born stays with you in your genetics somewhere and you are drawn back to it time and again? For me, it is the big open sky, the yellow's against the blues, the sun, the sparkling snow and crazyass winter temps that let you know you are indeed alive (and have all your body parts intact), the people, the trees, the wide open spaces. You?
Huzzy is snorchestra-ing. I am up early reviewing ASL. Having a nice cuppa.
I brought home some candy-stripe phlox, lavender and thrift yesterday - perennials to plant. Now just where ;0. Once we get the dirt piled up outside - re-fresh the soil - out they will go. Now, the black, funky tv trays will stay in the window with their planty-wares until it is time. Also bought some multiplier onion bulbs and garlic.....I must peek at planting times for all of the loot - I do need to start some pepper seeds and I think I can plant the sweet peas outside already....Two weeks till May Long! RoMo has some rhubarb for me - she will lop a root off of her main plant....and I just want to pick up some cosmos from work. O, their faces were open yesterday and I was very tempted to pick up a pack or two...but window space is cramped (unless I bring up the downstairs card table..hmmmmm...hahahaha). I was also spying Irises yesterday - so beaut - and bleeding heart bushes - clematis - hydrengea...will get huzzy over to view next week - want to snap up that lovely lovely blue pot for the yard - I think I know what size to buy.....and we'll get more plants for the backyard, shaded corner.
More coffee please. Off I go. I feel like I've been way too busy lately. I'm not good with multi-banana juggling I'm afraid....so need to take some downtime and moodling time and also plan-out time so I can stay on top of the bananas........will ride my bike sat and sunday!
Happy mothers day to all you mothers........your task is great and your love is grand and your humor abounds.....recongnizing your strength and perserverance and wit and courage and willingness to have your heart walk around outside your body....and to wake up everyday and start it all over again. I salute you! your compassion and lovingness makes the world go round. So, to gw's, Bron, Nels, K(first mama day!), Dlee, B, mamajama, RoMO, vel....may you be surrounded by love. ;)

hi friday
(image from Soulemama)
Morning Friday. I've got rigamortis and am a sore cowpoke from standing all day yesterday at work. Ay yi yi. Huzzy says to stretch. I concur. Mother's Day this wknd - so shout out to all the mama's. I'll give mine a dingle on Sunday and see if I can get through....perhaps I'll try Saturday and beat the busy tele lines. Have a great wknd - this body gotta go stretch. ;)

sun again
o welcome again dear sunny-sun-sun. We are glad to see you back. Things now need mowing. Weeding. Enjoying. No mozzies sighted as of yet. I think they are still in the Dominican. Shh, don't tell them the weather is turning for the better. ha
have a good one - off to the Greenhouse after a few days off (we weren't needed - rain and all). ciao bellas

new week
Ooo but this bloggity site is driving me nutters lately - seems so slow to upload and challenging to do any changes to font color etc. So bear with me. If you find it sending you to 'the sands of time' for awhile - you are not alone. A lesson in patience ;). So if I am not posting as often - you will know why. For now. I think they are fixing things on the Blogging site. Huzzy helped me download some spyware and other programs to help out with computer 'fastness'. Thanks Huzz.
It went to -1 last night. I was out last night in the dark, with Benny, constructing newspaper 'hats' for the pansy pots. I think it helped. They sure look funny in the daylight though. Once again, I'm not patient to wait a bit longer for warmer weather to plant outside....antsy in me pantsy - but pansies are also quite hardy little suckers so I will tend them to help them through any cold spells. Their faces just brighten my day.
The weekend was lovely. ASL class was great - Judy led us around Deaf Centre MB to give us a tour - all in sign - it is a big place and there are lots of different things going on there. Then came home Saturday after class to clean-up and we had R and V Mo for dinner and watched a bit of Hockey. Sunday was a lollygagging day of catch up - went for a walk in the 'hood with Huzz and Benoit, had lunch and moodled around in my 'su-dio' to clean-up and get things organized. Got rid of some paper - that seems to pile up fast! Watched Amazing Race and caught up on some blogs I pop into. Then went to bed and read (which doesn't last for long ...) And here it is Monday! Off to School this am to volunteer, lunch monitor then home to meet with landscaping fellow to get ideas/estimate for the front lawn.
What will you get up to today? Have a good one!

sun(less)day
Saturday, May 1
sat ur day
Here is 'spring-Bella'. I blogged about her last week. I think it was last week. ;)
off to ASL in about half an hour. Another Quiz. I'm getting faster at fingerspelling - but still have to 'think' things through...will keep practicing. Wonder what we'll learn today. Had cap'n crunch cereal mixed with other cereals - hope my brain turns that into smart food. Watched a couple of PVR'd episodes of Masterpiece Theatre last night and stayed up till 1:30am. Whoa. Don't do that often anymore. Huzzy tippled off to sleep after ten sometime. French club good - learned to say 'lay down' in french to Benny. Will see if he knows what I'm saying (he'll most likely just stare at me and think: cookie?) Hahahahhahaha
Over and out from this neck o the woods. Have a loverly wknd.
